I wanted my porch light to come on at dusk and turn off at dawn automatically.
I wanted the light to be warm white.
I wanted the light to be an efficient, long-life LED.
This simple bulb with built-in sensor eye has performed all these parameters flawlessly since I installed it early August 2020. It’s been six weeks. No idea how long it will last, but so far it’s doing exactly as I wished.
I also have it installed inside an obscured-glass fixture. (See the picture.) Some say their sensors cannot be inside a non-clear globe or it sees its own light and shuts off. This sensor works well. Somehow it knows when the sun goes down and when it comes up. The light shines all night and not during the day.
All I did was install the bulb and leave the porch On/Off switch in the On position. It’s installed base up.
This bulb could probably work in table lamp too, to provide light inside the house if you’re away.

I have these on each side of my garage door and they worked great at first and a few weeks ago one of the blubs stopped working and it stays on ALL DAY AND DON’T GO OFF AT ALL. The other one is still working great.. it foes off when the sun comes up but the other one has just stopped working.

Answer: It works fine for me under a ten by ten foot porch roof. Nothing else has

Answer: i bought these lights and i like them the only negative i have is they offer two types bright white and soft white. i bought the bright white and they are very very bright. for my purpose i should have bought the soft white . but the work well only had 3 weeks on at dusk off at dawn like clock work

Answer: I looked it on our bulbs and yes it does have that
What is the operating temperature? I live in Minnesota and was wondering will they work at -25 degrees F.?
Answer: I know they still work in the -5 to -10 degree range, haven??t been tested beyond that yet
Do I have to keep the power switch on all the time for this to work?
Answer:
As with any electrical device powered by household current, the switch must remain in the ‘on’ position to provide current to the bulb. It does not magically light up at dusk without the switch being on and supplying current to the bulb. The photocell is simply an ADDITIONAL switching device, it does NOT provide power ??
