Can this be disconnected from the power supply and used as an extension for the the direct connect smart light strip?

Unfortunately the only thing that connects as an extension to the 80 inch light strip is our 40 inch extension pieces sold separately at a fraction of the cost of this 80 inch LED light strip. Can this be installed outdoor (rain)?
