Had problems getting the App to locate and pair with the 4 bulbs I bought. Long story, short, I had enabled the Cync Skill in Alexa. This caused the bulbs to be ??paired?? with Alexa before the app could pair with them. After disabling Alexa, I went though the manufacturer??s reset procedures as follows. Turn off for at least 10 seconds, turn on for 8 seconds, off for 2 seconds, and repeat the 8/2, on/off sequence 5 more time until the bulb flashes. This will unpair it from Alexa or whatever else it was paired to. From there, follow the setup sequence in the app. Worked perfectly. After that, you can enable the Alexa skill if you desire, and it will work. However, I have noticed the app and Alexa ??step on each other??, making things a bit flaky when using the app. I simply opted not to use the Cync Skill and have left it disabled.

Although this is a ??direct wifi and Bluetooth?? device, it actually requires a cloud account to be set up first and a cloud connection to be established. That??s frustrating and misleading, but here??s why it??s important to avoid this product:
The fine print in the terms of the app and connected cloud account which you have to sign up for in order to use this this first time require you to release a whole list of things from your phone that should be private: full contacts list, banking apps, etc.
There is no way anyone should be handing that over to Savant (yes, that??s right this isn??t GE. GE just boxes it).

Great question! To connect these bulbs to your Alexa you will need to add them to the Cync app first. Once the devices are in the Cync app you will need to tap on Settings > Voice > Alexa.
