I have about 200 feet of govee lights. While these are perfect for a single wall or doorway arch, especially considering there’s a noticeable difference in brightness. There just isn’t enough functionality to them. You get a couple of modes and the diy section but syncing up these with the rgbic lights that have so much more to play with as far as settings and what they do isn’t worth the price considering the only perk is a little bit brighter lights. If you were to ask me I’d say go with the rgbic lights. You get many more feet they’re just as impressive color wise and the light show you can create with them compared to these isn’t even close. I love the GOVEE DREAMCOLOR WIFI 32.6 FT WATERPROOF STRIP LIGHTS personally. They will eventually be on the length of my wall above the baseboards and just under the ceiling of my home through the entire house I just love those lights. I also love these lights I think their a wonderful addition but if im saying best bang for your buck I say rgbic otherwise these are incredible to have. GOVEE can’t do wrong in my eyes and next I will begin purchasing the govee bulbs to connect all of my lights to the app, this brand of lights and the app are incredible. Govee I would absolutely love to see everything connect and work together without the scene option and if you ever want to sponsor a non youtuber or lowly peasant im your guy id take anything you would send me to try out! Lol thank you and you can’t go wrong with GOVEE!

If you are looking at this because its the rgbWW strip and you think maybe it’ll have good whites… look elsewhere.
I was looking to light some shelves and didn’t want to pay the normal price I’ve paid for strips from LIFX or Philips Hue–perhaps that was a mistake. The white quality out of this strip is terrible because of the controls and color tuning of the LEDs themselves.
First, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JUST CHOOSE WHITE ALONG THE SLIDER IN THE APP. For whatever reason, when you are on the “color” mode where you’d think you’d select from colors or warm-cool white, you always have a color selected WITH the warm/cool slider. See my pictures for examples. I selected the warm/cool slider last in each of these–but the last color selected will persist…did anyone test this at Govee??? So if you had green, then wanted to go to warm white. You get a very green warm white. If you select the white color swatch above the color slider then move the warm/cool slider–you get this purplish attempt at white. And if you don’t adjust the slider, the warm and cool LEDs will not be on.
Now, if you’re still reading, it may be useful to know that the the high quality strips (LIFX, Hue, etc…) will use the color LED to mix with their white LED(s) when you select from a the warm/cool slider–but that mix is to make it actually look like the cool or warm white you’ve selected. Not just mixing in whatever random color you last had. I truly don’t understand why anyone at Govee would think their way is at all what anyone wants.
Another weird note… if you go to scene and select “READING” it actually turns on ONLY the “warm” LED. Which would be useful BUT–its a terrible color. The light from just the ‘warm’ LED isn’t very warm at all. Its close to a neutral 3750K by my eye but with a ugly green tint (which my camera masks in the attached image).
By choosing orange before choosing warm white I get close to the color I’d want 90% of the time… but I’m probably going to return this and just get something I know I can set to whatever color I want and get something to match the rest of the lights in my house.
If you use the google assistant integration, its color selections do not activate the two white LEDs on this strip. Which is another fail. I didn’t try the alexa integration…but I expect the same to be true there as well.
Going to end this on a positive though. Nice included accessories with mounts and physical controls. The setup and integration was very smooth. No problems getting the phone to see the strip, and the strip to see the wifi, and the google to control the strip. Thats not always the case with smarthome gadgets when I try them, so props to having that part figured out Govee. Now just sort out your color science.
