I bought these specifically because they said “no hub required”. The instructions in the box were for Homekit, so I set them up that way and it was super easy. Tried to turn on lights when away from home, and it said a hub was required. The Homekit hub options are at least $100, so I was really disappointed and thought I’d be sending the bulbs back or getting an Echo, which I really don’t want. Then I discovered the Merros app allows you to set schedules and control from anywhere. Deleted the bulb from the Home app and reset it easily with the Merros app, which also added it back to Home. Now my light will go on automatically whether I’m home or not, and I can also turn it on and off when I’m away.

Bought these bulbs to use as part of my Apple Home Kit and must say they are a nightmare. One bulb was immediately recognised in the Home Kit app and set up quickly. The other took over 20 attempts until it was recognised.
Now set up and running they are so temperamental and driving me mad with one or both bulbs very regularly saying ??No Response??
They are in a good wifi coverage area and I have tried everything to try and make them more reliable but failed.
I would not buy again

Does this product not work with mesh wifi?
Answer:

Hi, these smart bulbs only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

If you have one wifi network that combines the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and are unable to temporarily disable the 5Ghz band for this setup, try moving further away from your router/wifi access point. Your phone will switch to the 2.4Ghz band and “see” the lightbulbs in the??

Should I create an account in meross app to upgrade firmware?
Answer: Dear customer, it is not necessary to registration account, you can be a visitor to upgrade firmware in Meross app, if there is any question in the future, please contact with us freely.

I have lamp sockets in my basement with pull cords. if i use home app to turn these bulbs off, can i turn them on by pull the pull cord only?
Answer: Hi, yes, you can turn off these HomeKit smart bulbs through the home app, and pull the cord to turn them on.
